Celebrating the Everyday Joys (and Little Surprises) That Bring Us Together
The author of 38 novels, Nancy Thayer has spent nearly four decades finding warmth, humor, and connection in the simple moments that make life extraordinary. A longtime Nantucket resident, she fills her world and her writing with family, friendship, and the occasional serendipitous twist that reminds us to laugh, love, and look around.
Nancy lives in Nantucket with her husband Charley Walters and their spoiled cat Callie. Sometimes they invite their thousands of grandchildren to visit. She loves libraries, bookstores, and zoom parties.
Her novels have appeared on the New York Times best-seller lists, in Redbook, Good Housekeeping and Cosmo UK, and are translated into many languages.
Her novel Let It Snow was made into a Hallmark Christmas movie entitled Nantucket Noel in 2021.
A Fellow at the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference in 1983, she was awarded the RT 2015 Career Achievement Award for Mainstream Fiction.

It`s Labor Day Weekend! Maybe a good time to watch Nantucket Noel on Hallmark! The book is called Let It Snow.
Tonight at 8 PM EST I will be talking with RaeAnne Thayne about my novel Summer Light on Nantucket. If you go to her page on Facebook, you’ll find us there!
If you want to preorder my new Christmas book and get the holiday bookmark and the cute sheet of winter drinks stickers (cue the Reddi-Wip) do it soon because Nantucket Christmas Stroll comes out September 29 and after that you can order it but not pre-order it. And stay tuned for my twelve sweaters of Christmas display!
Susan Sandler, playwright, screenwriter and NYU professor and I had lunch yesterday to talk about her brilliant movie about our beloved friend, composer Ned Rorem. Her movie Crossing Delancy came out years ago but it still fresh, smart, and funny. We both knew Ned, and we shared many stories about him, some of them wonderfully scandalous, Ned`s favorite way to be! The title of the movie is The Artist Must Grow Ever Selfish!
A warm tomato, fresh from the garden, seeded wheat bread, butter, salt. Heaven. Thanks, Tricia!
