OUR WEDDING

My new book has inspired me to look at old photos.

Charley and I were married in Christ’s Church, Cambridge, MA.

How many dogs came to your wedding?

In A Nantucket Wedding, two dogs are at the reception.

Charley’s mother brought as her guest

to our wedding ceremony her dog, Dali.

I’m pretty sure it was meant as a compliment.

Hazel Longenecker, mother of the artist Paul Longenecker, and a former Rockette,

brought their dog Pokey to the reception.

My father had passed away a few months before.  I was so glad

my mother could come to our wedding.

I don’t remember what we were looking at before the wedding.

I was pretty sure Charley would show up.

If only for the cake.  We both obviously shared a love for chocolate.

The flowers were real, so we didn’t eat them.

I was really really happy to be married to Charley.

I still am.
