I spoke last week on my blog about where I was when I wrote NELL. The month when I rented the cottage in Nantucket with my kids is such a great memory for me. I also realize how important that book was for me. It’s hard to believe it was printed 35 years ago and yet the story is, I think, still so relevant today. A woman empowering herself after a divorce and finding the new path that she must walk. I think any change is hard but there’s so much we learn from the new path as well as the broken path.
Still had the curly hair!
Such a wonderful quote for NELL in the NY Times Book Review! Do any of you remember Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey’s brilliant novel, A Woman of Independent Means?
