Dear Readers,
I keep telling myself it’s too early to think about Christmas gifts, but over the past week, I’ve found myself drifting helplessly to our attic closet, looking lovingly at wrapping paper, ribbon, and Christmas cards. I think maybe I need just a little bit more.
December is my favorite month, and not just because of Christmas. Okay, really, because of Christmas. I love finding presents for those I love and for a few people I only like. I already have a few presents hidden away for my husband. And, I’ll admit it, for our cat.
I also love December because it gets dark early (I know, weird). It’s as if the sky is giving me permission to curl up in my cozy armchair with a cup of hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course) and read a book.
How about you? Are you anyone’s Secret Santa? Want to stuff some stockings? Need a cheerful little holiday book to read after a long day? Does someone you know have a cat or a dog they love?
I’ve written three Christmas books, and Nantucket Book Partners has put together a perfect holiday set. Let It Snow (which was made into a Hallmark movie called Nantucket Noel) is there, and so is A Very Nantucket Christmas, a paperback including two Christmas novels, A Nantucket Christmas, starring a dog, and An Island Christmas, starring a cat. And for that special woman in your life, they’ve added Hot Flash Holidays.
And! My wonderful publisher has made a beautiful bookmark and I’ve made a special Christmas card for you with a recipe for my Hot Flash Cake on the back. (Yes, it’s all about chocolate.)
